Acquital by David Lindup was a library music track often used in low budget movies when someone was trying to crack a safe or sneak past a security guard.
It was also used as the opening music in the Twilight People (1972)

You know it, you love it, you just didn't know what it was called or where it came from.
It's called "library music," and it was the Analog Era's equivalent to the YouTube Music Library.
Some themes to things you thought were compositions specific to those IPs are absolutely kick-ass tracks written by quiet geniuses, to be used as "stock music" for movies and TV.
And because they were so ubiquitous and cheap to get the rights to, they became an indelible part of pop culture that most of us didn't know we didn't know about.
You're going to be yelling "OH YEAH, THAT ONE!" a lot during this.

December show and last mix of the year for Fade Radio. Featuring circular compositions, music for spheres, ambient, choral and more.
December show and last mix of 2024 for Fade Radio. A show for the end of the year, to come full circle and start again; repeating, looping, a wave progressing, always moving forward, like a spiral in time, or a snake eating its tail. Featuring circular compositions, music for spheres and choral exaltations for sonic ascension. With music by the inimitable Philip Glass, playing his own work live…

Library music is often used in television, radio and film productions. This low-budget, pre-written music is intended to convey particular moods to the audience. Entire LPs, named by theme and often in multiple volumes, are dedicated to a wide variety of moods and concepts such as 'business dynamism', 'modern leisure', 'relaxed terror', 'perky dismay' and 'unspecified uncertainty'. ...
